Injection Mold Designer

Tolerance Tool, Inc., an innovative mold manufacturer, has openings for Mold Designers. We are looking for individuals that are self-motivated and are committed to meeting the high demands of today’s mold-making industry.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Solid modeling of custom injection molds, components, assembly drawings, production fixture design and procurement for new product introduction.
  • Providing input to project management lead on project performance against established milestones.
  • Working on project from concept through production release.
  • Working with lead engineer and manufacturing engineer and taking ownership of any design challenges brought forward during proto and full production stages of project.
  • Preparing assembly and component drawings for manufacturing.
  • Coordinating and actively participating in all activities associated with all tooling builds and proto part procurement.
  • Making recommendations to engineering lead regarding product design as it relates to tooling or manufacturability.
  • Continually seeking to strengthen knowledge in all the system software.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of an engineering/design/drafting Associate’s degree or Technical.
  • 5 years design experience, preferably in custom injection molds.
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks, Cimatron, or ProE a plus.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communications skills, and strong organizational skills.

 

CNC Programmer/Operator

Tolerance Tool, Inc., an innovative mold manufacturer, has openings for CNC Programmers and Operators. We are looking for individuals that are self-motivated and are committed to meeting the high demands of today’s mold-making industry.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Supporting and leading machining operations within their assigned work cells.
  • Maintaining and developing machining processes on vertical machining centers.
  • Using, understanding and operating all inspection equipment
  • Setting up tooling for all machines in work cell.
  • Troubleshooting machining problems and initiate repairs.
  • Writing and modifying programs for CNC machines.
  • Performing other duties, as assigned, necessary to meet production needs.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 2-year degree from technical school in CNC Programming and Machining.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing setting.
  • Must be up-to-date on new machining techniques and properties.
  • Ability to read code/machine language and use basic math, geometry and trigonometry.
  • Have mechanical aptitude in troubleshooting machine problems and initiating repairs of machines.
  • Experience with operating all forms of inspection equipment.
